Christopher L. Rasmussen
Mr. Rasmussen is an experienced corporate attorney with almost 35 years in the telecommunications and technology industry. He specializes in telecommunications, transactions, sales, marketing, incorporations, distribution and supply agreements, financings, stock purchase agreements and regulatory laws. Although his focus is on start-up and early stage companies, he also provides advice and counsel for later stage companies as well. He currently serves as part-time General Counsel and Secretary for Xalted Networks, Quantros, Klaus Technologies, Cummins West, and the Woodside Group.
Previously, Mr. Rasmussen was the General Counsel of GoBeam and of Pulsent Corporation, a video compression company. He spent a total of 27 years as in-house counsel for Southwestern Bell Communications (SBC) Services, Inc., the long distance subsidiary of SBC, and Pacific Bell Network Integration, the data equipment and networking subsidiary of the Pacific Telesis Group. He was the chief counsel for Pacific Telesis Group’s broadband project in 1995 and the chief divestiture lawyer for Pacific Bell during the AT&T breakup in 1983.
Mr. Rasmussen has legal and business expertise in strategic alliances, partnerships, joint ventures, regulations, contracting, marketing and sales for the telecommunications industry. His practice areas include corporate formations, general business advising, and transactional work.
From 1968 to 1972, Mr. Rasmussen was a nuclear submarine officer in the US Navy. He is active in business and civic affairs in San Jose and is married with two adult daughters. He is an avid golfer and a member of a number of bar associations and civic organizations.
