Aasish Somasi is a proficient lawyer with more than 10 years of experience in various areas of commercial law, including Information Technology, Competition, Privacy, Intellectual Property Rights and Media and Entertainment. Aasish has worked to provide competent legal guidance to MNCs, domestic companies, and start-ups for their business and commercial expansion in India. He has vast experience in handling disputes for these companies and has represented their interests in courts across India. His experience representing companies like Meta and Microsoft has equipped him with unique skills to address critical legal issues facing the IT industry today.

Aasish has previously worked with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and Anand & Anand where he has been involved in landmark cases such as CCI investigation into WhatsApp and Meta’s data sharing policies, and cases involving regulation of social media intermediaries.

Aasish has a Bachelor’s degree [B.A L.L.B. (Hons.)] from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, and completed his Master’s degree (L.L.M. Specialising in Law, Science and Technology) from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2018.
