Inventus Law, PC (“Inventus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of its Users (“User,” “your,” or “you”). This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Inventus’s website at www.inventuslaw.com, blogs, any mobile sites, applications, widgets, other interactive features that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Sites”), engage our legal services (“Services”), attend an Inventus event or otherwise interact with us.
Inventus is committed to protecting the privacy of its Users whose information is collected and stored while using Inventus’s Sites.
The capitalized terms have the same meaning as ascribed in our Terms of Use unless otherwise noted here.

2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
The following is a description of the different types of Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) we process and the sources from which we obtain them:
Clients: This notice applies to all former, present, and prospective clients of Inventus. We may collect personal information also referred to as personally identifiable information (“PII”) which may include your name, contact details like phone number and email address, payment information, and any other information you provide to us or we otherwise obtain from third parties as part of our client on-boarding process and disengagement process, as well as to the information collected during the course of a client relationship.
Inventus vendors and business partners: We may receive PII such as contact details and payment information from our vendors and business partners as well as from their employees during the course of a vendor or partner relationship.
Event: We frequently host events wherein we may collect your PII as part of the registration process for an event sponsored by our firm. Such PII may include your name, address, title, company, phone number, and email address, as well as specific information relevant to the event for which you are registering.
Publications/Newsletters and Networking Events: We offer our clients regular updates on different legal topics via our publications/newsletters and networking events as part of our value-added services. If you sign up to receive our client alerts and publications focusing on key legal updates, industry trends, landmark judgments, and our invitations to informational programs and networking events, we will collect your PII such as name, company, email address, and the practice areas and industries that you are interested in.
Communications: If you choose to contact us for any purpose, we will collect your contact details, your name, and the content, date, and time of your message, as well as our reply and any follow-up action we take in relation to your inquiry.
Job applicants: If you are a job applicant, as part of our recruiting process, we may ask you to enter or upload your name, resume and transcripts, phone, email address, law school, graduation year, application office, department, and position. We may also collect a cover letter, writing sample, deal sheet, recommendations and additional transcripts.
Other Information: We may collect information that does not personally identify you such as:
- Browser information
- Information collected through cookies, pixel tags, and other technologies
- Demographic information
- Aggregated information
- Zip code
3. HOW DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION?
We and our third-party service providers may collect Other Information in a variety of ways, including:
- Through your browser: Most internet browsers automatically transmit certain information to websites you visit, such as your computer type (Windows or Macintosh), Media Access Control (MAC) address, screen resolution, operating system, and browser type/version. We use this information to ensure that our website functions properly.
- Using cookies: Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. - Information provided by you: We collect information voluntarily submitted by you, such as your company name, job title, interests, and preferred communication methods. Unless combined with personal information, this data does not directly identify you.
- Aggregated information: We may aggregate personal information to generate statistical insights and trends. Aggregated information does not personally identify you or any individual user.

These tools operate under strict confidentiality and data security protocols, and no personal or client-sensitive information is shared with public or unapproved AI platforms without appropriate safeguards.
5. OUR COOKIE POLICY
Cookies are small pieces of text used to store information on web browsers. Cookies are used to store and receive identifiers and other information on computers, phones, and other devices. Other technologies, including data we store on your web browser or device, identifiers associated with your device, and other software, are used for similar purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to all of these technologies as “Cookies.”
We use Cookies on our Sites to (a) understand and save your preferences for future visits, (b) compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions in order to offer better site experiences and tools in the future, and (e) allow trusted third-party services that track this information on our behalf. We allow third party behavioral tracking and links to third-party web pages. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. 6. DATA SECURITY MEASURES.
Security Measures. We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Sites. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on our Sites.
7. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
There are times when we may share Personal Information that you have shared with us with others to enable us to provide you over Services, including contractors, service providers, and third parties (“Partners”). This section discusses only how Inventus may share such information with Partners. We will ensure that our Partners protect your Personal Information. The following describe how and with whom we may share your Personal Information:
Disclosure of Personal Information.
- We may disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-personalized information that does not identify any individual to third parties without restriction for purposes such as marketing, advertising, analytics, research, and other business activities.
- We may share personal information with our subsidiaries, affiliates, and related entities for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- We may disclose personal information to our business partners, service providers, and other authorized partners as necessary to provide services and support our business operations.
- We require all partners and third parties who receive personal information from us to maintain its confidentiality and use it only for the purposes for which the information was disclosed, in accordance with applicable contractual obligations.
- Personal information may be disclosed, transferred, or assigned as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction involving our business.
- We may disclose personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes where you have provided consent or have not opted out of such disclosures, as permitted by applicable law.
- We may disclose personal information for any purpose that was disclosed to you at the time the information was collected or for which you have otherwise provided your consent.
- We will only disclose personal information as described in this Privacy Policy, as required by law, or with your consent where applicable.
Other Disclosure of Personal Information.
- We will disclose personal information (i) to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, (ii) to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes, (iii) if we believe it is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Inventus, our clients or others, and/or, and this includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
Third-Party Disclosure.
- We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer personal information to third parties without providing prior notice, except to trusted hosting partners and service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or providing services to you, provided they agree to maintain the confidentiality of such information.
- We do not share or provide non-personally identifiable visitor information to third parties for marketing purposes.
8. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
- California Civil Code. Inventus does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside third parties your “Personal Information” as the term is defined under the California Civil Code Section § 1798.82(h). Additionally, California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits Users of our Sites that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of their Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make a request for such disclosure, or identification and/or deletion of Personal Information in all our systems that we store on you, please send an email to admin@inventuslaw.com or write us at Inventus Law, PC, 355 Bryant St #403, San Francisco, CA 94107. Note that (i) if we delete your Personal Information as requested, we will no longer be able to provide our services to you and (ii) we may need to keep such Personal Information for a while during the shutting down and billing process. - CPRA. This Section supplements the information contained in our Privacy Policy above and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others to our Sites, who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). We adopt this Section to comply with the California Privacy Rights Act that is effective from January 1, 2023 (“CPRA”) and any terms defined in the CPRA have the same meaning when used in this Section.
- (i) Right to Request Personal Information. Upon request, we will provide you with (i) a list of all Personal Information that we have collected on you, (ii) from whom we obtained such Personal Information, (iii) the reason why we collected such Personal Information, and (iv) with whom (if any) we have shared such Personal Information. If we sell your Personal Information or disclose your Personal Information to third parties, upon request, we will provide you with (i) a list of the Personal Information that we have collected on you, (ii) a list of the Personal Information that we sell or disclose to others on you, and (iii) to whom we have sold or disclosed your Personal Information. We require such Personal Information to be able to provide to you, our Services. Unless otherwise specified, we only collect Personal Information from you. We do not use others to provide us with your Personal Information.
- (ii) Disclosure of Personal Information. We only share your Personal Information with service providers, e.g., billing and collection agents, who enable us to provide our Services to you. We do not sell or give your Personal Information to third parties for purposes unrelated to our provision of Services to you.
- (iii) Right to have Personal Information Deleted. Upon request, we will delete all of your Personal Information that we have collected on you and will direct our Service Providers to also delete all of your Personal Information. But note that if we do delete all of this Personal Information, you will no longer be able to use our Services.
- (iv) Non-Discrimination Right. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CPRA rights. Unless permitted by the CPRA, we will not:
- Deny you goods or services.
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
- Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
- Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
- (v) Opt In Consent. We will only process, collect, use and store your Personal Information upon receiving your express consent to do so. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND CONSENT TO WINXO COLLECTING, USING, PROCESSING, DISCLOSING, STORING, AND RETAINING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR TERMS OF USE WHEN YOU CHECK THE APPLICABLE BOX SIGNIFYING YOUR CONSENT. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT THIS CONSENT IS FREELY GIVEN, EXPRESS, AND AFFIRMATIVE.
- (vi) Right to Opt-Out. At any time, upon your request, we will stop selling your Personal Information (sometimes called your Opt Out-Right). You may send the request to Opt Out (i) to admin@inventuslaw.com (ii) by writing to us at Privacy Officer, 355 Bryant St #403, San Francisco, CA 94107.
9. INDIA DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT (DPDPA)
If you are located in India, we may collect, process, and store your personal data in accordance with the DPDPA. By using our services, you consent to such processing, including cross-border transfers to the U.S. and other jurisdictions.
10. COPPA COMPLIANCE (FOR CHILDREN UNDER 13 USERS ONLY)
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) is a federal legislation that applies to entities that collect and store “Personal Information,” as the term is defined under COPPA, from children under the age of 13. We are committed to ensure compliance with COPPA. Our Sites are not meant for use by children under the age of 13. Our Sites do not target children under the age of 13, but we do not age-screen or otherwise prevent the collection, use, and personal disclosure of persons identified as under 13. 11. CAN-SPAM ACT OF 2003
The CAN-SPAM Act establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have businesses stop emailing them, and spells out penalties for violations. Per the CAN-SPAM Act, we will:
- not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses;
- identify the email message as an advertisement in some reasonable way;
- include the physical address of Inventus Law, PC, which is 355 Bryant St #403, San Francisco, CA 94107;
- monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used;
- honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly; and
- give an “opt-out” or “unsubscribe” option.

12. RETENTION PERIOD
We will retain your Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.
13. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We will share personal information with members of our global legal practice for the purposes set out in our privacy policy. Inventus takes all necessary data security, privacy, and legal precautions to ensure the safety and integrity of Personal Information that is transferred within the firm.
14. MODIFICATIONS TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We will post any changes to this Privacy Policy in a notice of the change at the bottom of our web page with a hyperlink thereto. The provisions contained in this Privacy Policy supersede all previous notices or policies regarding our privacy practices with respect to the Sites. Please check the “Last Updated” legend at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Policy was last revised. We encourage you to check frequently to see the current Privacy Policy to be informed of how we are committed to protecting your information and providing you with improved content on our Sites to enhance your experience.
